Mark D. Segel is a Partner of EIF and a member of its Executive and Investment Committees. Mr. Segel joined the Firm in 1999 and is responsible for the asset management of fund investments. Mr. Segel’s duties include identifying and implementing strategies to optimize the value of investments, including portfolio and project financings, project contract restructurings, and the management of investment liquidations. Earlier in his career at EIF, Mr. Segel was an investment officer responsible for originating, evaluating, analyzing, structuring, and closing new fund investments. As a financial professional, Mr. Segel has over 22 years of relevant experience in independent power project development, finance, and investment, as well as in commercial and investment banking.
Prior to joining EIF, Mr. Segel was Vice President of Finance at ABB Energy Capital L.L.C. in Boston, where he provided project financing for energy efficiency and energy-related projects. Prior to ABB Energy, Mr. Segel was Manager of Finance at U.S. Generating Company (formerly J. Makowski Associates) in Boston, where he structured, closed, and administered project financings for independent power projects. Prior to U.S. Generating, Mr. Segel was a Loan Officer at The First National Bank of Boston in the National Banking Group, where he performed financial and credit analysis for the extension of credit to large corporate and middle-market customers. Mr. Segel began his career as an Investment Banking Corporate Analyst at Shearson Lehman Hutton Inc. in New York, where he worked in the Mergers & Acquisitions and Corporate Finance departments and performed financial analysis, valuation, and advisory services. Mr. Segel received an A.B. from Harvard College where he concentrated in Economics. |
